| TOURNAMENT RAISES $4.2K FOR SCHOLARSHIP FUND |

The 7th Annual DFW MSU Golf Tournament & Scholarship Drive was a huge success, shattering the previous high with approx. $4,200 to go towards the scholarship endowment at MSU. 75 people participated in this event at Riverchase Golf Club in Coppell on May 20th, which also included a raffle and the auctioning of a limited edition football signed by the entire 2005 Dallas Cowboy football team (donated by Flozell Adams) and 2 tickets at the MSUAA suite for a MSU basketball game this next season (donated by the MSUAA).
Special guests at the tournament included former Spartan basketball greats Sam Vincent (head coach, Ft. Worth Flyers) and Terry Donnelly. Barbara Ball-McClure also joined us, coming down from East Lansing to speak about the scholarship endowment and other avenues for contributing to the growth and success of Michigan State University. We thank Barbara, Sam and Terry for making it out to Riverchase. In addition to awards for the 1st through 3rd and last place teams, special recognition was also given to club VP Patrick Johnson for his work organizing the first 6 golf tournaments, and club member Bill Corbett who recently underwent a successful kidney transplant that hardly kept him from club events (and certainly not the golf course!). Special thanks are due to Steve Novak, who took over this big event this year and did a terrific job. Way to go, Steve. We’re also extremely appreciative of Flozell Adams and the MSUAA for their contributions to the auction, and to Barbara Ball-McClure for securing the signed Izzo, John L. and Joanne P. McCallie balls for the raffle. Thanks also to our volunteers, who worked the registration desk, water, jello shots, hole-in-one hole and more to help ensure the event was a success. Finally, thanks are also due to Sam Pack’s Five Star Ford for offering up a Ford Ranger at our hole-in-one hole and to the numerous individuals and companies that donated to our rich raffle prizes and gift bags. Overall, donors included:
