>> Fun Event on Preakness Saturday is Excellent Excuse to Go to the Tracks!
Come and join the fun with fellow Spartans and friends on Preakness Saturday, May 17th, when the country unites find out whether we'll have a Triple Crown contender heading to the Belmont Stakes. Lone Star Park will offer a full day of exciting live Thoroughbred racing, then we'll pause to watch the running of the Preakness Stakes live from Pimlico.
Cost of this event is $40.00 and includes the following:

The gates at Lone Star Park will open at 11:30 a.m. and the first live race will begin at 1:35 p.m. The Preakness will be simulcast at approximately 5:19 p.m. (subject to change).

DFW Spartans Looking to Win -- Donate March-September 2008!
In conjunction with Carter BloodCare, several of the local Big Ten alumni clubs recently kicked off the 2008 Big Ten Blood Drive Scholarship Challenge! Between March and September of this year, donate much-needed blood at any DFW-area Carter BloodCare location and given them the code for MSU -- Spon038617. 
The participating DFW area Big Ten school alumni chapter with most donated pints March through September will receive $100 for their scholarship fund from each of the other participating local alumni clubs! Right now, 7 of the 11 clubs have confirmed involvement and committed to the scholarship challenge portion of this -- which means, real stakes!
